Well, we have 2 ft left of the decking, the stairs, railings and a few posts yet to do, but this project is going to be on hold for awhile.  Too many other things that need to be done.  Good thing I have until the end of he decade plus 1 year to get it done...  ; )

I have some plywood by the door and the ramp, so we can access the deck while it is on hold.

Been working on the decking.
We decided to go with cedar decking using Sherwin Williams semi-transparent oil based deck stain covered bridge color.

Louis likes the little diving board esk ends hanging off the ends of the deck.

Started putting decking on the ramp. After years of consideration pros cons etc, we decided to use treated decking.

We decided to use an under deck mounting system. The screws go up into the decking boards at a 60 degree angle.

See, no visible screws :)

We will eventually stain/ preserve the top to keep the water from soaking in the top of the decking, more on that later...

Been working on the ramp lately.

We have alot of metal on the ramp. I guess when the big earthquake happens we can sit on our deck and ponder what to do about our house... ;)
Here is a shot of some of the metal.

Here we got all the joist work done. It is too steep to be ada approved. The slope is 2 inches per foot of run, which is the same slope as the ramp out front.
(ada is max 1 inch per foot of run)

I found some metal joist hangers made specially for ataching to concrete.
